GBS volunteers were recently joined by James Murray MP (Ealing North) at the District 105A Community Urban Farm – alongside senior representatives from GBS and the wider GEDU group.

Among those attending were GBS CEO James Kennedy and GEDU Group CEO Dr Vishwajeet Rana, who joined volunteers in touring the site and learning more about the impact the project is already having on the local community.

The visit formed part of GBS’s ongoing partnership with the Lions Club of Heston, supporting the development of the community-led urban farm, which is transforming unused land into a productive green space for local residents. The farm will provide fresh produce to local food banks while promoting sustainable food production and environmental education.

Following hosting the XXII CIFAL Global Network Annual Steering Committee Meeting in late 2025, GBS is committed to translating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into real-world impact. The initiative directly supports the SDG 2: Zero Hunger, helping to tackle food insecurity while strengthening community resilience through sustainable urban agriculture.

GBS is proud to play an active role in initiatives that deliver real, positive change at a local level and looks forward to continuing its work with the Lions Club of Heston as the farm continues to grow.

Keep an eye on the GBS website and social media channels for more updates on this ongoing partnership project.
