Current Students

GBS students are encouraged to take advantage of the support and resources offered by the Careers and Employability team. Whether you need help with your CV, applying for jobs, developing your skills, or finding work placement, internship and volunteering opportunities — the Careers and Employability service is here to help.

Careers and Placement Hub

GBS provides all students with access to dedicated careers resources platform through the Careers and Placement Hub. Here you can access information and support around interview preparation, CVs and cover letters, placement enquiries, job opportunities and much more. You can apply for jobs, take advantage of the Career Edge+ programme, get feedback on your CV and cover letter, and utilise the free CV and Cover Letter Builder tools.

Work Experience Placements

Certain GBS courses require students to complete a mandatory work experience placement alongside their studies. There are number of resources available on the Careers and Placement Hub to support you during the placement process.

1. Required documents – As part of the placement process, you are required to submit a CV to the Placements Team. There are CV building and reviewing tools to make submitting your CV even easier.

2. Tracking – The Careers and Placement Hub includes a feature in which you can track the progress of your placement and complete relevant tasks. This will help you manage all the key tasks required to get your placement signed off efficiently.

3. Placement Review Meetings – Book appointments with your campus’ placement officer to discuss your progress and raise any issues.

4. Careers consultations – You can book appointments with a member of our Careers Consultant Team to support you in applying for positions, writing your CV, preparing for interviews and any other careers-related topics.
